This layout is a sort of "snapshot of the Now" (or x-ray, depending on your needs), useful for when one needs a quick survey of the territory. It can be used to take the astral temperature before leaping into the day’s endeavours, and is also good for those occasions when one is doing a lot of readings (such as parties, Shriners conventions and psychic fairs).

After shuffling and cutting, spread the deck out face down and draw a Significator (not shown on the diagram above). This represents the Querent at the start of the reading. Then lay out the cards in the above order and interpret as follows (feel free to improvise, season to taste).

1. Where one is coming from - something recently passed that is still making its influence felt

2. Where one is – the still point of the now; the issue, concern or mental state at the current time

3. Where one is heading, where the energy is likely to lead one

4. A touchstone – something to look out for or be aware of

5. A foundation stone – a source of strength, often something of which one needs to be reminded

6. The next turn of the Wheel, how things will progress a short way down the road

Note that this is a reading centered in the present and the next step one will be taking.
